Road Rail Utility Corridor – Ridley Island

Project Description

Location: Prince Rupert, British Columbia
Details: 25kV Distribution poles
Completion Date: August, 2014

The Ridley Island Road Rail Utility Corridor project includes the installation of 220 single phase wooden poles and the stringing of a new 25kV distribution line for the purpose of providing power for lighting the new rail spur on Ridley Island.

Mobilization of crews and equipment, as well as shipping of materials, occurred over a significant distance between the headquarters in Coquitlam, BC and Prince Rupert, BC.

Detailed planning for the project took the distance between the headquarters and project location into account in order to maintain schedule and budget.

The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, much to the satisfaction of the client, JJM Construction. The high level of performance of the work crews was noted by the client, and an ongoing working relationship was established.
